This is a list of things that have happened, both in hockey and the world, since the Avs beat anyone other than the St. Louis Blues (in no particular order):

- a 2nd round pick Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk traded to St. Louis for a 1st round pick, Erik Johnson and Jay McClement

- John Michael Liles was not traded

- 92 players were traded by their organizations in the NHL

- Andrew Brunette played in his 1,000th game

- Peter Budaj did not win his 100th NHL start

- New Jersey Devils coach Jacques Lemaire coached his 600th NHL game

- Florida Pantehrs forward Corey Stillman played his 1000th NHL game

- Detroit Red Wings Forward Todd Bertuzzi played his 1000th NHL game

- Former Colorado Avalanche Forward Steve Moore did not play hockey

- Trevor Gillis, John MacLean, Nick Foligno, Patrick Kaleta, Rick Nash, Brandon Dubinsky, Curtis Glencross, Alexander Semin, Milan Lucic, The Toronto Maple Leafs, The New York Islanders,  Daniel Briere, Curtis Glencross (again), Dean Lombardi were all fined by the NHL for Various infractions (+ more not listed by Wikipedia)

- February

- A temporary extension of the United States Federal Budget was approved, avoiding a government shutdown (temporarely)

- Other Middle Eastern governments, such as Saudi Arabia, bribe their people with stipends to try and quell civil unrest.

- Extra Terrestrial Life was discovered, errr maybe.

- Southern Sudan voted to become independent of Sudan

- NASA’s Kepler Mission discovers 1,235 potential planets, with 54 falling in the range that could possibly support life

- Cyclone Yasi hit the northern coast of Austrailia

- Julian Assange and Wikileaks publish a boatload of diplomatic cables from all over the world.

- Julian Assange is denied asylum in Britain, paving the way for extradition to Sweden on Rape charges.
